Description

Current webUI is not very ergonomic to me... Shall we do some brainstorming here to bring it at a better level :) ?

Also, there are some missing features: modify a domain or address, create a domain with a specific postmaster address...

Shall we do some brainstorming here to bring it at a better level :) ?

I agree it's not fantastic. But:

  • it was designed to have some realistic web pages to implement
  • it was designed primarily for end-users which manage their single email account (switching between local account, redirects and answering machine)

And it more or less match its goal.

Also, there are some missing features: modify a domain or address, create a domain with a specific postmaster address...

These features must be thought both from the UI and functionnal point of view, some are not very practical. For instance RFC2822 more than suggests that postmaster@ exists, so it's much safer and easier to hardcode this value and let people work around it (like aliasing it to their own personnal account). Etc.

I propose to tackle issues one after the other, and most importantly once the current UI is extremely well tested and works well.

Side note: I tried to avoid the usual CRUD style which tends to organize data in ways that are only intuitive for geeks. But I admit it's not easy to extend for administrators which needs to manage many domains, users, etc. Maybe having slightly different UIs for end-users and postmasters is a way to go. I'll like to have a precise list of use cases and a few sketches.
